Tent City Halifax Rally for Gallaudet University FSSA
On Sunday, October 22nd, after a meeting on Friday, it was determined that a quick rally would be hosted two days later. Sixteen people attended this rally at beautiful Point Pleasant Park in Halifax, Nova Scotia, in quite blustery conditions. All braved with good spirit and cheers!
Noni Warner, Class of ‘93, gave the first speech with a brief summary of the purpose of the rally. Amy Parsons then gave a brief explanation on the timeline of the protests beginning in May to the present, emphasizing a few issues behind the protest.
A cheer of GALLAUDET! UNITY! SAME! was done. Pep talks were given by Jim McDermott, Class of ‘72, Alan Williams Class of ‘79, Justin DeBaie Class of ‘98 and Marty Van Den Heuvel, Class of ‘99. A Nova Scotia flag was signed and sent to FSSA to show our support. It is hoped that another rally will be planned with more discussion on the issues.
Go, FSSA! We are with you in spirit! UNITY FOR GALLAUDET!

Hey IKJ and JKF!!
See their message from eastern province of Canada!
Nova Scotians, you rock! More faces means more support to Gallaudet students, faculty and staff all the way!
I agreed with one of them about not giving up!
