About my experience with the protest here at Gallaudet.. At first, let me say this, I was not part of it at all. I was neutral when it all began last May.. The information and the reason of protesting against JKF was not strong enough.. Also it happened beginning of May during the finals and I had already gone home. It resumed again now in the fall, I learned more about it as it progressed… Yet I remained neutral because I am an international student plus working as resident assistant…I could still be part of it but I only could do what the guidelines say… But after what all had happened with take over of HMB, lockdown, and the arrests, I felt really disgusted because BoT, IKJ and JKF isn’t really taking any real action towards our demands. I had witnessed the arrests, it was like wow, and it really hit me hard that they are not doing anything. Ever since then I am all for the protest – I support them completely, and been going to few of the rallies, and show some support at the gates. It is really affecting everyones lives here on the campus…. I am hoping it to end soon but only if our demands are met!!
