Washington, DC: The Gallaudet University Alumni Association - Board of Directors are pleased to announce that it has set up a web log at http://www.guaanews.com to better able communicate with concerned alumnus.
“Due to the recent events at the campus, there has been a lot of information that is being shared appears to be speculation or ‘one sided’” Said Andy Lange, President of the National GUAA. “We are setting up this Blog so that we can communicate directly with our Alumni with as much factual information as possible. It’s a site geared towards communicating with vested stakeholders.”
The focus of the Blog is to foster communication between Gallaudet and its alumni base of approximately 15,000, of which a little over 7,000 are direct members of the GUAA. The GUAA encourages alumni to sign up and join the GUAA E-mail List for future direct communication, it is free to join this list. The GUAA will also be adding video clips and other features popular on blogs.
All are welcome to make comments. The GUAA asks that all comments be geared towards the positives, ask questions, and make statements. GUAA is a “Bash Free” zone. We ask that all kindly refrain from “bashing” individuals or make inappropriate remarks about any one person.
If you are not a member, please join. To join the GUAA, Students can join before graduation at a $50.00 life time fee. Alumni wishing to join after graduation can do so for a $75.00 life time fee.
The GUAA encourages all to come to Gallaudet Homecoming on October 21, 2006. We will gather at the grassy mall between the Library and EMG Statue at 10:30. The Annual Homecoming Alumni parade will begin at 12:30.
